Our train garden this year is going with a standard gauge section, and part of that will be the addition of Barclay/Manoil/Hornby-style lead figures. For aesthetics and availability, we're going to be using reproduction items.
I'm wondering, for those that have old and new, which manufacturers seem to match the quality of the originals? I'm looking for paint that is comparable to originals, as well as what I guess I'd call the "crispness" of the casting.
