Hi All,

I've done TMCC for years but made the leap to MTH DCS as a XMAS gift.  Worked great until today when showing a friend the features of it running DCS and TMCC it seemed to loose all communications from the TIU to track / DCS engine.  Checked all settings, did factory resets, but now all engines boot up conventional and I can't add any engines "none found".  Did I do something stupid or is there an easy fix for this or just back luck to have a short lived TIU that needs to go back to MD?

Note; I have not moved this DCS to my layout yet, this is all on a simple test track oval on the floor.

Thanks as always for your insights!

S/F Mike

i would go into dcs setting and turn all on and then try. also if still not working reset tiu from remote and then try dcs and engines. have you dropped the remote. if the remote was dropped you might have the transmitter board came loose inside. one easy way to test is try a different remote if you have another  remote  or borrow one from a friend .if still not working after all these tests try resetting remote as well.

on tiu power up have many times does the red led inside the tiu blink?

should blink 1 time!

report back any other things you find out

At work now (need to pay for the toys!) but I'll try that when I get home this afternoon.  Assume adding a brick to fixed 2 in and moving the track to fixed 2 out will accomplish the same thing?  Also thinking (just to see) of changing out the test track section & feed wires.

I read about a "floating transceiver" in the DCS companion book...I would think that if the fix is in the book it has also made it to the production line, but could that be the issue?

I do believe (at this point) the issue is inside the TIU case...

Thanks again as always!

Mike
