#10 has a place in my heart as well. The first SG engine I ever saw was a peacock #10, which belonged to the F-in-L of one of my mom's cousins. I was just about 10 years old at the time, and the engine needed rewheeled 'way back then, but the size, heft, and shape appealed to me.
The first SG engine I ever bought was a gray #10. I had to put new wheels on her, but she ran well.
I have since bought another that was in even better shape, and this girl runs like she glides on melted butter. Everything works, and she pulls her 332/339/341 consist just like a mother duck leading her chicks.
She may have been near the bottom of the line, but ol' #10 is as good an engine as ever rode the model rails no matter the scale, year, or price range.
