I have a tiu rev. L The variable track 2 has a short. I get continuity when testing it on hot and ground on both input and output sides.

Hmmm ... fuse would not be an issue, I suppose. Time for a new TIU?
Two possible causes. Either the TVS diode has shorted (just fixed one of those), or the FET's on that channel have croaked. Since it's on the input and output, I'm guessing it't the FET's.
It is a fairly new Tiu but no longer under warranty. I mean I can live without it but if it's fixable I'd like to try the other 3 work great and no other issues except for this.
It can be repaired, and I suspect it's probably the FET drivers for that variable channel.
I did see other forums suggest the TVS in but I didn't think it would cause a short between all four terminals of input and output of the channel. I don't have capabilities to test at high end but am will to replace TVS and so forth.
Where can I find a replacement FET, digi-key? And is there a specific type I should look for.
If you're in no particular hurry to get the FETs:
Okay I'll order these and give it a try. I'm newer to the hobby and am learning quickly. Add seeing this is a Rev. L is there anything I else I should do preemptively to insure trouble free operations? And thank you very much for your time and expertise.
Check TV's first. Should be near output. G
On a variable channel, a short across the output isn't reflected to the input, so if I were a betting man, I'd be betting on the FET's.
I ordered the fets they'll be here Sunday, but I won't be able to get to it until Monday or Tuesday because I work weekends. But I'll let you know the outcome as soon as I get them installed
