Shorting Lionchief General Drawbar?

Is there a way to shorten the drawbar on the LC general? I have the promontory summit set (1923080) and while it's great the drawbar length is quite large. Attached is the drawbar as it sits and a few examples of the gap I'd like to have. 

Lots of things are possible, but I have no experience with those kinds of drawbars. If it is wires running through the bar to the connector, that might make it easier, but if it is like an MTH bar where it is a printed circuit board, then it is likely not possible. Something you could try is to see if other Lionchief engines have a shorter drawbar that you could install.

I was thinking of going the swapping route rather than try to modify the stock drawbar. Are all LC/+ drawbars the same? Ie, four pin male and female connections.

I'm pretty certain that the number of pins is the same, but I don't know about the length. I can't guarantee anything. Not an expert.
