Hello Friends, I just purchased a Williams Pennsylvania #671 S2-100 Steam Locomotive w/Tender, never ran, new in box, is it OK to use Lionel Premium Smoke Fluid with out damaging the smoke generator, instructions say to use LGB or Seuthe only? Also would I be damaging the unit by not using fluid as their is no switch to shut the unit off, Thank You, Frank.

Yep, I've used regular smoke fluid in Seuthe units for years. Obviously, if they can get you to buy their overpriced smoke fluid, they will.

Thank You very much, And Wishing You a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year 2024, Frank
I get the 250 ml of Seuthe fluid. Protosmoke price has skyrocketed so the Seuthe price is about the same (on ebay) incl. shipping. Also I use JT "big boy" for my MTH locos, although it works fine in Seuthe generators too. Lionel fluid for my one old Lionel wick smoker.
Didn't Seuthe make the smoke unit in the Lionel Roadside Diner #6-12722? If so, then Lionel smoke fluid would be compatible.
Any fluid will work, but Lionel has a higher viscosity, especially for their older locomotives. Seuthe is lighter for their type generators, whatever their use. Mega-Steam is excellent too.
