I forgot in my previous post, you can go to the Yahoo groups and search Sn3 and there are 2 main groups pertaining to Sn3, the first is the Sn3 group and the second is the Northwest Narrow Gauge group (NWNG Group), that is where you will find a lot of guys that model strictly in Sn3 and you can get some fantastic information from them. Also Google PBL and check out their web site.
I model in Sn3 as well as S standard gauge. I'm one of the few who model the East Broad Top. B.T.S. began making some kits years ago and I got into it since I live a half hour from the prototype. However, B.T.S. has slowed up a bit and I've resorted to scratch building everything I need. I'm currently working on the Timber Transfer that stood at Mt. Union, PA. I agree that Sn3 is a great size to work in.

Forgive my uninformed state. Is Sn3 using HO track, or N gauge track, or does all the track have to be handlaid? A new scale might be something to get me to enjoy operating and constructing more than doing repairs. Like to hear from those who are more expert than I am. Thanks!
Sn3 track is 9/16th's" actual gauge which is 3' in S while HO track represents Sn42 or 42" gauge. Shinohara sells Sn3 flex track and #6 switches. The rail is code 70.

Fast Tracks sell turnout jigs for any size rail you want to use and also regular track jigs.

There are a few guys that model in Sn42 but not very many that I know of. On30 has actually been around for a really long time. it has always been a kit bashers scale and still is. If Bachmann keeps raising its prices the way it has been it may very well go back to its roots. On30 is great and a lot of fun. There is also the rivit counters in On30 too, just like all scales. Sn3 has their share of them but I think the worst are in On3.
