I loved the movie, very dystopian, intriguing and an escape
For Mark, Lee and David, best you guys stick with The General and Silver Streak, they seem more your type of movie
I'll stick with Murder on the Orient Express, thank you very much.

First 2 are classics, not sure about I Robot

Two of my favorites. I love Robby the Robot, but just can't get used to Leslie Neilson as a handsome leading man anymore!
Remember when Klaatu tells Bobby about the trains that have no rails? I always assumed he meant maglev . . .
Gort - Klaatu, Barada Nikto!
Baby, where we're going, you don't need teeth!
I'd like to see Paul II.

Hey, there's always these guys:

Sounds like the premise of a Thunderbirds episode, doesn't it? Giant train in the snowcapped mountains, derails in the middle of nowhere and International Rescue is called to save the day... Thunderbirds are Go!
F.A.B.!
Thanks for all the bad reviews my copy arrived this morning.............. twice, so I have twice the amount of bad movie to watch!

You could always put one copy (Only the disk!) in the microwave and get 10 seconds of pure entertainment.
Tilda Swinton is one of my favorites, so I'll be looking for this on Roku or XBMC (if it ever starts working like it should).
I don't watch "Reality TV", I want to be entertained so hopefully this will fill the bill.
It can't possibly be as bad as Sharknado (and the upcoming Sharknado2) can it?!?!?!
I recently got rid of most of my Cox cable offerings, cut the bill from $107 down to around $30/month and may cut it altogether soon.

Tilda is one of my favorites, too, but I prefer when she is not in front of the cameras. It thought her narration of the science series Galapagos was as good as anything David Attenborough had done.
Sharkanado is a candidate for an Oscar compared to Snowpiercer.

Wait...what? Sharknado 2....Count me in!! Now that's some fine cinema!
Mark
It's on TV over here on July 31st.
"It's on TV over here on July 31st. "
are you hosting a watch party?

Whoa, it must be bad , but how can ANY train-related movie be that bad?!?!?!
I love those 1950s SyFy movies like The Day The Earth Stood Still...let's not forget The Thing (from another world) with James Arness as the Thing. No special effects like today, but the acting and story can't be beat. Here's a lnik to some quotes of the movie:
I'm still gonna see it.....as soon as I can find it to watch!

Me too...... I have to be able to share some of the pain that you have endured!

First, it really isn't "Train Related", Unstoppable was far more train related. The story could have just as easily taken place on a ship, airplane or even a battlestar. So get past wearing your choo-choo hat to enjoy this movie
What it does look at is class struggles and people in power that use that manipulate the masses to achieve their own goals. Yes it's graphic and over the top, but it's based on a graphic novel with a lot of Asian influence. I watched it a second time last night, is it a oscar winner? no. But its a decent action flick with some twists in it. If you like Hunger Games, Blade Runner or Mad Max (Not the rest of the RW series), you will like this.
It's available for most people on Video on Demand, I watched it on iTunes, do not think its on NetFlix. A few of the small "Art Cinemas" are showing it
Thanks Chris, I'll be looking for it tonight if I'm able.
I was cutting grass this morning and leaned over my neighbors 36" chain-link fence to grab a weed I had chopped down and felt my left rib cage kinda give way. I don't think I broke anything but maybe pulled some cartilage between the lower ribs, hurts like the dickens but that's why they make pain meds!
LOL, it didn't hurt enough NOT to play golf, but on the back 9 I was struggling. Rest tonight and tomorrow should help
I think Emperor Of The North has been the best RR movie I've seen.

Can we get an amen here?
I think Emperor Of The North has been the best RR movie I've seen.
The best of the modern railroad films, I'll agree. But if you open up the time limitations, Danger Lights and The Silver Streak (no, not the one with Gene Wilder) are the best in my book.

Yeah, not to be confused with earlier US films by that name, Russia's The Edge is cool. It is sort of bizarre, at times serious and at times a bit nearly silly, but it has great steam locos, some very bleak Siberia wilderness scenes, and some tense moments. Definitely not a Snowpiercer!
