So I know many will be rushing the halls to find that diamond in the rough, that rare item that has been elusive to many.

What item are you looking for on this trip to York?

Last trip, I found a set of mint in the box Lionel E6 Rock Islands!

Who would have thought the hardest item to find was a nice cold Yuengling on Thursday evening.. they ran out at the local Diner!

A Williams/Bachmann PRR RS3 is on the top of the list. Always wanted an RS3 and have been impressed by new Williams offerings.

I've been on the fence about the Williams/Bachmann 44 ton switcher since it was released. I see the MTH 44 toners have hit MTH's warehouse. I have an MTH on order but prefer the simple, Williams conventional engines. Plus, I ordered the Long Island MTH engine and also want a PRR........we'll see.....do I really need two 44 ton switchers? No but then again, I do have about 12 F units....

I'm going to be looking for some Postwar freight cars. if I see a Postwar steamer that calls to me, It'll be coming home also!

Despite having absolutely NO room on my layout to put another structure or accessory, I want a Plasticville Farm stand. I have the new MTH house with Christmas lights on order and will have to build a very small bump-out on my layout to hold it. Guess I better get working on that to fit the house and the farm stand........

Other than that, we'll see what I'll find.

Be sure to come see the National Capital Tracker display in the black hall.

I used to always think growing up in central PA How do people live outside of Yeungling Territory? I took a Job in Louisiana and found out for 5 months. Then as I like to call it. Dick Gave me a nice Birthday present and brought it to LA back in August. I at least get a 6 pack every week while at the supermarket (another astonishment for a central PA person).

As for what I am looking for is anything that pleases my eye and wallet. Most likely something PRR related.

Its tough, but you just have to plan ahead. Here is my colleague and I returning home from York. No room for trains, so we had the trains shipped home.

I'll be looking for a super York deal on an MTH DMIR Yellowstone engine from their 2009 20-3379 set in new/like new condition.  Also scratch building supplies.  Other than that, unexpected great deals, fun stuff, etc.  I'll have a great time even if I go home empty handed, but I'd be surprised if that happened :').

Hi guys this will be my first York trip and I can barely wait. I'll be looking for a K-line 4-6-6T preferably weathered. I'll also be looking for an MTH 4-8-2 Mohawk that I want to repaint and make into a Lehigh and Hudson River model.

Stop by and join us at dinner and/or the grandstand meeting!

There's nothing like your first York!

-Greg

My usual MTH York boxcar (got all of 'em so far, might as well keep the streak going)

Some more NS power, deciding between any two of:

--Veterans SD60E, regular NS SD60E, NS C40-9W

--any more MTH Amtrak ballast hoppers, and,

--any MTH Premier Amfleet food service car, and ribbed-side sleeper (preferably as close to plain silver as possible)--still working on doing that Amtrak exhibit train.

---PCJ

For rolling stock looking for MTH 30-73321 - Santa's Hot Chocolate Smoking Tank Car (green).

Also looking to decide between Lionel Legacy and MTH DCS and get what I need for controller and transformer. We have 2 Legacy engines and 2 of the MTH diesel Christmas engines that are Proto 3 but step down from their premier engines. Thinking I can run the MTH on own line and use the entry level remote control for the features it has (mostly the Christmas chatter from the elves) as the Legacy engines have the most advanced features of our stuff and might as well get the unit that works best with them.

Will pick up Lionel Polar Express Lionchief engine and tender if someone is selling them as a breakup from the set. We have the original engine and all the add on cars and it's a dog going around the layout unless you limit it to a couple of cars.

A few people for the layout. I liked the people at the Metal Figures booth at the Spring show.

Lastly, might try to get a sound board for Lionel RS-3 Route of Reindeer conventional engine we have. Sound doesn't work. Never fixed one before, but I bought this for $120 and figure it's worth a try to replace the board.

I really enjoyed just seeing all there is out there. Don't have the years in it like others, so a lot of things I see are new to the mind!

I already made a purchase of a locomotive from the OGR buy sell board that I am picking up st York but what I will be looking for is a plastic chassis with plastic trucks for a late 1980s K-Line caboose. A LHS did a special run of these back then. Unfortunately, many years ago I took it apart and broke it. I would like to restore it back to its original condition. Also I could use a Premier NYC gondola.

I'm looking for a few specific items and things in a general category all for a postwar layout I'm building:

  • Category: Things where, if you buy them online, the shipping doubles the cost of the item (e.g., small parts, such as brushes for a Lionel 10 prewar standard engine).  I'm also looking for small things like 214, 314, and 336 bridges.  Again, same principle: These are cheap, widely available, but the cost of shipping doubles the price you pay when buying online.

  • Item: UCS tracks!  I SEVERELY underestimated how many I have and have stupidly passed up many marked at $5 over the past few years.  I will be purchasing more than I want to admit at York.  Like parts, you can get them pretty easily on eBay for $5 each, but shipping is at least that again.

  • Item: A friggin' 419 Heliport: This is a friggin' 1963-only friggin' hunk of plastic that some friggin' guys want $650 friggin' dollars for.  I had one on that friggin' auction site but my friggin' sniping service went down at the end, didn't submit my friggin' bid, and I lost it for $137.50.  As you might be able to tell, I'm not fully over it.

  • A few other items but the above are the critical ones, this trip.  My wallet is still licking its wounds since the American Freedom Train shipped this week...
