My addiction to trains started in the 60's when my local library had copies of Pennsy Power I and II as well as the excellent Steel Rails to the Sunrise by Ron Zeil. I have copies of most of Mr. Staufer's books and find myself referring to them constantly not just for information on steam but electrics diesels passenger cars and freight cars of the NYC Pennsy C&O and B&O. Recently referring to Later Power of the NYC, NYC Power and Thoroughbreds for information on Lionel's announced J3a The action photos also give great modeling info. I know Alvin passed awhile ago but what a legacy. I plan on giving my railroad books to my local library before I go hopefully to get some kid inspired to learn about trains of old
