I tested a few more locomotives at the Imperial Train Company before we closed in January. Here, I do one more multi-unit comparison, demonstrating the sound and light features of one of MTH's most recent runs of Premier GP35s (EMD Demonstrator) against Lionel's newest revision, and an MTH model approaching its tenth birthday (CP Rail).
Source video links can be found on the YouTube watch page; since they are not my videos, they would violate the new Forum rule.
My intent with the Sound and Light check series was to provide a sort of service (along with my opinion); MTH does a very poor job advertising their road-specific light (and occasionally sound) features and neither MTH nor Lionel provide full demonstrations of their sound sets beyond the horn, bell, and crew talk/PFA. Hence, I set out to use basic internet research to demonstrate the prototypicality (and often lack thereof) of the Big Two's models, as well as the full performance of the sound sets. It was fun while my job lasted; there will be one more video next month, but until I get more disposable income, that's all for now.
