Some years ago I briefly owned the handsome Tuscan GG1 from the Lionel 'JLC' Series. I remember thinking the sounds were highly unusual and my first thought was a giant squid for reason, Lol. Tonight I ran my Brunswick Green JLC model and was reminded on the earlier impression. Curious as to what the source might have been for these models and the recent Vision units as well. No complaints as this is one of my favorite pieces in my collection and my appreciation comes from Jonathan's excellent article/posts on this forum some years ago where he pointed out the many small details that he felt made the Lionel model the most accurate in 3R O-scale.
Here is a brief video where you can hopefully hear the sounds. Tonight it pulled a beautiful 7 car set of Premiere PRR 72' cars that are very nice - (Thanks George). Something I noticed this evening while placing them on the track for the first time is the variety of passengers that MTH included. There are 'regular' male/female figures like you see everywhere but in addition I discovered a pair of 'Swabbies' in Navy uniforms as dubbed by Club member Erman (USN Retired) as well as several children, a waiter or two in the dining car and other 'not common' figures. Am certain I'll discover more as I operate this consist more. Great job MTH! A beautiful passenger train for sure...
