Is there an online reference source or a CD available for purchase that contains scanned copies of the early Lionel catalogs? I know the Ives catalogs have all been scanned and are available on CD. I'd like to be able to look through the early Lionel catalogs and I'm wondering how I might best access them?

Best place is HSL's Lionel Catalog Archives...2 discs...if you can find one looks like this
Greenberg Books used to market exact reprints of the postwar catalogs that were really nice. Might find some on eBay or Amazon...
I have both the HSL CDs and the Greenberg reprint catalogs, neither of which are available except on the secondary market. They are very nice indeed, and that's why the Greenberg reprints are on the expensive side. But buying original catalogs in decent condition is also very expensive. Haven't noticed whether HSL disks have appeared on the secondary market, but there is a lively trade in the Greenberg books in the usual place one might look.
I bought the complete HSL set when they closed them out last year, and can highly recommend them. Yes, they are no longer available from HSL - maybe try a wanted to buy ad here on the OGR forum. Or there's always the bay, but I am sure that sellers know they are "out of print". Last time I checked there they didn't have any, but we know that can change anytime. Good luck.

For the very early catalogs the only book that was published was Greenberg's Lionel Catalogues: 1902-1922 ISBN 0897781201 published in 1989. Copies ain't cheap starting at $115 used and $493.99 new per bookfinder.com
