Mannyrock -- Now you know why hobby (for trains) and craft (for buildings, etc.) paints are better choices opposed to something designed for wicker furniture or old garden tools. Hope you learned a lesson.
There is a YouTube channel called hpiguys where the hobbiest almost exclusively uses Rustoleum type paints for model vehicles. I've used some of his tips. Worth checking out.
What Ron045 said about Hobby Lobby and Michaels, except don't go to the physical store. Go to their web sites and order on line.
I commented on this problem some time ago...since l am cheap, and my road is a fictitious free-lance, l loved the once wide selection of 99c flat colors in Wallyworld. They also are handy , with stores everywhere. One had cleaned out all it's spray paint over a year ago. I can chorus all the problems above with cans with same brand maybe having a different style tip, but one brand has apparently? bought out others, and is $4 and more. Aerosol shortage makes sense but? Model paints? N gauge cans to paint O gauge structures? I found they sell spray tips in quantity on net, but will it fit? Some can tips seem designed neither to work long or to be replaceable.
Hokie,
I thoroughly checked the websites of Hobby Lobby and Michaels. No dice except some drab earthtones.

Just looked at the Michaels site for 2 stores - 6 pages of spray paints giving 133 items at 1 store and 138 items at the other. Lots of colors and finishes...
MWB, Flat primary and secondary colors? Yellow, orange, purple, blue, red, true green, silver, gold, etc?
Testors Dull Kote will dull down any paint though not sure its compatible with every paint. I would not use it over Krylon as their enamels seem to react with most every other solvent paint.
SEM paint is available in some auto paint and auto parts stores. Its a urethane paint that is resistant to solvent paints once cured and comes in many colors mostly gloss but some flat. Dull Kote would not harm that paint if you used a gloss underneath.

I typically get excited when I see a new email from OGR regarding a new comment on a post I'm following. I can't wait to read it.
But this one... Sheesh. So many people with great ideas, advice and experience provided value added input, only to be told, "no, that won't work for me".
Unfollowing... See you on some other thread.

Ron - THANK YOU! Your post saved me from posting what would have been a very snarky comment. I'll simply say that i have had better conversations with my empty coffee cup at 8:00 AM than with the originator of this post.

Guys,
I thoroughly appreciate all of the advice.
But, if you have followed the posts you will see that many people have repeatedly advised me that small cans of flat model paint in lots of colors are available almost everywhere. They have referred me to specific stores, specific websites, and specific ads. But, every one of those place I went to said out of stock or not available, and what was normally carried was unfortunately just not there. I really think it is the can shortage.
Ron and Modeltrainsparts, I am really sorry if you think it is "snarky" or boring for me to check out the sources I have been sent to, and then report back that they don't have the colors. But if I don't, then that current information is lost.
Baltimoretrainworks, thanks for posting the website ad showing the paint colors. As you have shown, the paint can in the ad is listed as "Out of Stock."
I think the best option is for me to use Testor's gloss enamel spray paints only, and then spray them with Testor's Dullcoat.
If that doesn't work, then I certainly will be using the other options you have suggested.
I thoroughly agree that everything that can be said has been said, and I will close this out.
Thanks again,
Mannyrock
