Any thoughts on that?

My two cents and I think you'll hear some of this during the show. Things are being planed far enough in advance now that they can roll some new stuff into VII and deliver early the following year. Lionel catalog show will hit Notch 6 as well at 9 AM on Friday.

While we got a "tease" this morning with the new catalog I think everyone will be happy with the new offerings both in new tooling and redec's. Our pricing is done, our pdf.s, and even the whole catalog will be live on Friday. The reason we don't answer your questions about what we will be pricing the new items at is because we spend a lot of time and money posting it. I can easily say 299.99 on a item and then one of our competitors lists it for 298.99 to beat us by a buck. But it's not about the buck. It's about our 70 year commitment to you, our customers. It's about our FREE shipping. It's about getting it to you FASTER than everyone else! So when we post prices and pictures Friday please give us a shot to be your dealer. Thank You, Chris and Charlie.....

Well, the first FEF-3 model was also Legacy and did NOT have the "smoking whistle", which was just fine with me. There is no way I'd pay that kind of money, just for that "smoking whistle" added feature.

Wow, SD60e and a Southern 630. Lucky for me no Pennsy Decapod or T1. I am broke from the Volume 1 catalog but it sounds like Lionel is hitting the ball out of the park. Can't wait till Friday to see the whole catalog. Think I will have amother glass of Orange Kool Aid!

Andrew,  You should contact Lionel and report back to us.

I have been e-mailing Contactus@lionel this for the past year. I hope that they finally get them right.

Search the new website for locomotive 6-82800.  What shows up is an interesting teaser for me with no other information available.

Actually for steam fans too.  If you enter in other numbers starting with 6-828** you can pull up other "tidbits" like  the grey or black UP FEF and some heislers.

Thank you Chris and Charlie. I have had it with my current dealer (is a sponsor to the forum so don't ask) and my biggest concern for this catalog was going to be from whom to place an order. I have never placed a preorder from you and you have just earned my business with this post. Can you walk me through your preorder process. Any money down, how do I get receipts, do I create and account, do I get contacted prior to shipment, ETC. Every dealer works differently so please excuse this most basic of questions.

HW,

With the cab numbers I saw they missed the mark.  Kratville's The Mighty 800 referenced 837/839/844.

The following FEF locomotives were up-gtaded with Worthington SA Feedwater systems:

1) 835

2) 837  in 1952 *

3) 839  in 1956 *

4) 841  in 1953

5) 843  in 1954

6) 844  in 1955

* =  Three exhaust stack modification.

I have my Friday all planned out. Take the bus home as usual, but get off one stop early. Go to Dunkin Donuts to buy a snack. Walk home. Flip through the Lionel catalog and see all the cool things. Listen to Notch 6 podcast and flip through a second time, following along with the podcast. Then flip through the catalog a third time to get a over-all picture and take everything into account.
