Love the 2-4-2 and 4-4-2 Starter Set Locos and The "I Love Toy Trains" docksiders. Everytime I run these at shows, there is always a kid or two that says, Hey, Ive got that locomotive. And you can see their faces light up. If they don't already have their trains set up at home, I know that when they get home they will be. Its a true joy to cultivate and motivate the next generation of Toy Train enthusiasts. Never give up playing with trains. You can grow old, but you don't have to grow up!!

Popi,

That is good you run these trains at shows!  I see a lot of kids interested in trains at the Monroeville, Pennsylvania Greenberg show when I attend.

What age kids seem to be most interested in the 2-4-2, 4-4-2, and I Love Toy Trains?  Are they younger than 10?

i have a younger friend who has some Lionel trains from his childhood, but hasn't run them in years.  He wants to buy a set for his 10-year old son.  His son seems to prefer steam over diesel, and my friend seems to be leaning towards the MTH Pennsy Flyer set.  I never bought a train for a child, our girls were never interested in my trains, but I am thinking his son is ready for the Pennsy Flyer or a Lion Chief Plus.

ages vary from 3-4 up to 8-10 and even 12-13-14 1n 15 yr olds.

Although Ive had 60, 70 and 80 somethings come up to the board and act like they are stil 12 or 13 and you can put me in that group. Im 55 and feel like a kid everytime I set up for these shows.

Its really an honor and priveledge to run at these shows!!!
