Static Revisited on Lionel 2-8-0 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi Folks,

I'm having static sounds coming out of my Lionel 2-8-0 #2784 6-1135.

I posted about this on the old forum and tried to reseat the chips on the Railsounds board... Board died. I just got a new board from Lionel. The new board puts out sound fine but the static is still there. ???

What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Any suggestions of a dependable Lionel service tech in the NYC area to have check the loco out?

I've had the issue, but both times it was reseating the RS chips that fixed it.

I've got static in my trainsounds tender. It had gone into a stage of high pitched sounds just before the static started.
