Hello All,
I installed a Lionel fan driven smoke unit in a Williams 746 J a few years ago and have it wired directly to track power pick-ups. It's been working great but it runs too hot I'm noticing, burning the batting, so I'd like to step down the voltage using diodes. I purchased a bunch of 1amp diodes to run in series to step down the voltage but now I'm wondering if 1amp can handle it.
Can I run 8 or 10 of these is series to step down the voltage sufficiently or should I have bought 6amp diodes?
Is there another way to wire it inside the locomotive?
