After about 5 yrs I finally got a great record session that works perfectly.  I am running 3 trains, one passenger, one freight and one very short train headed by an H10 with one boxcar.  It lasts about 10-15 minutes.  The layout is about 6x11 with two interconnected loops, 5 switches and a Z1000.  The Z1000 had NO problems with 3 smokers going, 4 lighted pass cars, one lighted caboose and the switches running off track power!!  My point is practice using the Record/Playback part of DCS it is absolutely amazing!!

Hint: Leave some extra room for activating switches etc.  Stick with at least one foot of free space if not 18".

Video would not show anything but trains running.  I guess you could show the remote sitting by itself on the layout as the trains go but still not visually appealing.

It is easy to setup as long as you don't get too complicated, start with a simple record session just to try it out.  You can only have 3 different sessions and it's easy to record over one.  Just don't forget to 'Stop' the session and then 'Save' it as Session 1, 2 or 3.  You will get a (R) showing in the remote during Record and a (P) during playback so it's obvious what is happening.  Also, if you make a mistake you have to start all over again, there is no going back and fixing the mistake.  Hope this helps out.
