Just finished rewiring my first phase of trackage on my layout. Installed new revision L TIU's. Moved them up from two inches above the floor in a cabinet to track level behind the control panel. Removed the light bulbs. First run is a success! Track signal was a 10 over entire layout and no lost signal no matter where I was in the basement, including the storage tracks through the laundry room. Now for the problem. I went from one TIU to 4. Two more for the expansion of the high rail layout, and one to use the variable channels only for two Super O loops to run conventional equipment. The results on this were very disappointing. I am using a newer ZW with 135 Watt Bricks set at full voltage to power the variable inputs on TIU number 4. When I go to track 1 or 2 for the seperate loops as soon as the voltage reaches about 5 volts the horns in units sound constantly untill the voltage reaches about 10 to 11 volts. The engines do not seem to run at top speed and they seem to be especially noisy with a loud hum. The two engines I am using at this time are both newer lionel units with railsounds. The Burlington GP passenger set and the FT AA set to be specific. Any suggestions?
