I tried posting this originally in another location and a fellow forumite suggested I post it here.  Judging by the lack of response I have to say he was right.  So, I'll try this again.

I need some advice.  I'm looking to upgrade some older conventional brass steam engines to TMCC and Railsounds, but the Railsounds options are very limited.  I have a 4-6-4 Hudson and a 4-6-2 Pacific that I want to upgrade, yet my options are only Generic steam, Atlantic or Nothern steam sounds.  The other 2 are for SP Daylights and articulated engines so I can factor those 2 our for sure.  What will give me the best sound for each?  I know the whistles will not be road specific so I won't even try to go down that path.  I guess I'm really wondering what will give me the closest chuffing sound for each engine type.

Thank you!

Well, Atlantic are for the smaller locomotives, typically the 2-4-4 and the like.  I'd probably pick one of the Generic and one of the Northern if it were me.  If you look around, you can occasionally find some other sound chips.

You might ask Boxcar Bill if he can get any of the other chipsets.  I know that Digital Dynamics used to have a richer selection, but since he's gone, that's no longer an option.
