Good Morning Everyone,

I am starting off the showcase today with some pictures of an s-scale roundhouse kit I am constructing. I did not use the internal wood roof structure or the wood windows that came with the kit. I substituted them with  styrene beams and square stock and Grandt Line windows. In addition, I added a luon floor covered with styrene sheet that is painted primer gray. I will add lights to the interior and also use the wooded doors supplied with the kit. The wood doors are to be glued in place in the open position, but I am going to try to make a hinge for each one using styrene pipe and round stock.

I have slowly been replacing the original Lionel stations on my layout with scratch or kit built ones. The last one to go was a beautiful #115.  I wanted to do one with a Southwestern theme, similar to the Southern Pacific stations that used to be in Mesa and Yuma, AZ.  I saw this office building in Tucson and thought it would work just fine.  I just  scaled it down enough to fit the footprint of the #115.  Other than the roof plate, it is built entirely of styrene, mainly .080" for strength.  And since it is located close to the edge of the layout, I figured I had better do an interior.
