Good Morning Everyone,
I will start with something that I constructed in the past. Lets see what you have been working on.

Finishing up the Richmond Packing Company........
Left off last week with roof work and building the stairs......
First off, the ventilator roof.....
Then, the main roof....chimneys placed.....
Then, two stairwells.....
.....and, a ramp.....
Placed next to another one of Dennis' kits, the Oblong Box Company....
....and, a Weaver Delta Lines box car inside......
Have a great Sunday, everyone.....
Peter
Really nice work Pete, those Brennan buildings are beautiful. Dennis makes a great kit but it takes a good model builder to get the job done.
I've been working off and on making haunted/ghostly structures, using mostly Railking items, with the goal of making either a dedicated ghostly part of my city or an underground city that was lost in an earthquake. I've done some painting and detail work to make this simple Railking building look abandoned; would like to add flashing lights and eerie sound effects - if anyone knows of a haunted/ghostly sound/light kit kindly drop me a line. I prefer an easy to install kit...nothing that requires an electrical engineering degree The idea I had was a ghost inside causing building lights to flash off and on, and haunted house sound effects. With trick or treaters on the sidewalk, this could be neat!
Alan, Peter, and Anthony,
Amazing work. That is out of reach with my current skill level.
I’m still experimenting with trackside scenery methods, sometimes requiring a redo. Mainly working on making bushes and ground cover. One inexpensive technique I found online utilized polymer fill, spray paint and scenery foam. Also made my first water feature, creating a murky drainage ditch out of two part epoxy. Also wired up the flats along the back wall.
This is always one of my favorite threads. Great work everyone! I really love the building of residential homes. I have wanted for a long time to make an accurate model of the home I grew up in Spencer, Iowa.
Peter, the packing plant has turned out fantastic! It's obviously not a kit for a beginner, but you have made it look easier that it is. Great job! It's easy to love an Ellison model, a Brennan kit, but it still takes a dedicated and talented modeler to build it.

Art, you and everyone are very kind....
Dennis' instructions are very lucid and detailed.......this makes it easier to advance my skill set with each model. I am doing stuff that I never dreamed that I would ever do.....I would dare say that all of us are capable of doing these kits........it's just careful reading and then thinking it through before you act.....
But, thank you, again, to Art and to everyone else, today, and on other days.......you are all too kind!
The work I have seen on this thread and other threads on this Forum, has given me the confidence to both try and succeed.
......and, Alan, thank you for your moderation of this thread every week!

Nice work everyone! The structures and ground scenery are all very impressive.
I recently custom-built a pipe load using aluminum tubing. On the inside of each pipe is a coat of flat rust-colored metal spray paint and the outside is a satin apple green. The pipes sit on a few wood blocks which were constructed using small pieces of birch wood cut to an appropriate length (actually coffee stirrers). Lastly, I used model striping tape to simulate the straps over the pipes and then two 2mm chains securing the pipe load to the bulkhead flatcar.
One down and a couple more to be made!

Paul you might want to look at the Evan Design welding led light effect - it provides a random flickering effect that I think when inside your building will look a bit scary vs like a welding shop.
For the sound Check out ITT Products sound modules, you can find both listed on the scenery source list. They make both a haunted house sound module plus some creaking sign and wind effect - they have a lot of options.
of course if you want a science fair project there are ways to home brew something with parts from eBay but the itt modules are more plug and play
Everyone, some great work this week!
peter and trainbros looking great!
Hey Rich,
I haven't seen any updates to your layout lately. Have I missed?

Thanks Dave, slow going this summer, I have a few more buildings done but need to take pictures.
Hey Rich,
I understand. Many others too are busy enjoying the weather.

Nice work everyone! Sorry I’m a day late to the party, Ton going on yesterday! Last week I finished the Clara Barton Bridge project. I’m pretty happy with it. I added some 3D printed expansion joints, cracks and weathering. I have now begun kit-bashing an MTH bail bonds building to turn it into George’s Song Shop. A very old iconic record store in Johnstown. Should be working on this one for a quite a while! Have a good week!
