I was able to turn off the cab light on one of my E7a's using jmri and programming the decoder. I haven't had a chance to change the other E7a.

Wonder how one does that with TMCC on the 3rd rail version; is it possible?

How about cutting the wire to the cabin light, or installing a micro-switch for it? That may sound radical, but I have never understood why a engine cabin would have to have a light on. And if it did, it should have been red, like in the submarines.
