Hey all, I just got back yesterday from school for this week for Thanksgiving break.  I'm working on what trains I want to bring back to decorate my dorm floor with, and I'm planning on bringing with me my Polar Express loco to use to pull a christmas train.  anyone have any ideas for things i could do to super detail the engine for any train, not just christmas?  (Also im not going to use it to pull the polar express cars and im not going to use it to pull the polar express tender it came with I have another consist and a tender with a better whistle that matches.)

Heres a pic of pretty much what it looks like that i found online bc im too lazy to go take a proper pic of it right now.

Download as many pictures of Pere Marquette 1225 you can find and compare with what you have. Things I like to add are rope pulls on the bell and whistle. Scale coupler up front with a lift bar and chains. Cab apron to bridge the gap to the tender. Shorten the drawbar as much as possible that will still allow the engine to negotiate your tightest curves.

I am not familiar with what comes with this engine. If it is missing cab light, class lights you could work on those.

I'll have to give it a go.  I like the enhanced plow on the front and the tender im going to use it with actually is pretty decent about the gap so I'm good with that respect.  I can def do the wire for the bell but i broke the whistle long ago so i'll forget about that one for now.  I might give the thing some light weathering but i dont want to weather the tender because it was from my first train set which i want to keep pristine.
