The 1122 switch I inherited works perfectly but the light does not work. No bulb was in the socket when I checked so I bought some LED's from Ebay based on comments by members that LED's are the way to lower power consumption. I tried two of these bulbs and still no success.
I assume any bayonet style bulbs should work on these switches, correct? Is it possible that the 3 wires from the controller are not connected properly to the switch mounts to prevent the light from illuminating?

Incorrect wiring of the controller would not affect the illumination of the bulb in the switch. Try a #53 incandescent bulb. If that does not work, you will need to trace the power to the bulb using an AC voltmeter.

Thanks Larry. I think I have a 53 in the parts bin if it's the same one that is used for the front headlight on Lionel engines.
No, the incandescent bulb did not work either.
I just found another minor problem. On the switch itself, the bulb socket assembly is missing. Does anyone know the part number for the bulb socket assembly? I've seen a couple different designs on various retail sites, one with a black wire lead and one that has prongs on it, and don't want to order the incorrect one.
