Switcher Saturday 1-1-22!

HAPPY NEW YEAR fellow switcher fans!!  JHZ563 thanks so much for keeping this thread going all year long!!  Looking forward to seeing what everyone posts for the new year    I wish everyone a safe, healthy, and joyous 2022!!

Today I have a video I made several years ago.  It's packed with switcher action and a Camelback 2-6-0 pulling a passenger train.  

The Free State Junction Railway switch crew wishes all of you switcher fans a Very Happy New Year!  

Hey switcher gang!  Here are some still shots of mostly critters doing their thing.

Plymouth crew talks it over before making next switch move.

Ma & Pa SW1 and caboose executing switching duties around Patsburg.

Up on the Mountain Division a Plymouth is on the logging camp siding as a Docksider passes on the main.  

When the BIG HOOK needs to be moved around .. the Docksider is called into action.

GE 44 tonner on switching assignemnt.  Brakeman Buford Custer is on the ground performing coupling/uncoupling duties in addition to throwing switches.  

This time the Plymouth has been called into action to move the BIG HOOK.  

You know that 2022 will be a great year because it is starting on Switcher Saturday!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year, I'm back. Last year was so busy since the summer that I didn’t have enough hobbies left, now I try to continue my own Maine module track as much as possible. I have started a new module and after that there are four more left before all seven are ready.

Thanks Tom. I will now try to keep you up to date on how the project is progressing. Sometimes later when the layout is "complete", I will invest more in the equipment and details.

One switcher is nice, but double heading two with full command control is a blast!

This is one of the best features in DCS.

What a fun forum!  I’ll run this same sequence next Saturday with my new Beta 3.0 Menards F unit.  Should be a direct comparison - dual motor low end unit with radio control hand-held.

K-Line 42”, Lionel 42”, and Marx 34” switches.  Gargraves flex track at about 34”, Lionel tubular and Marx 34” tubular track.

I do also understand that the GP38 isn’t a pure switching engine, so I include this short clip of my Burlington conventional control SW1 making a run to the engine house.

Looking great everyone!  Looks like we have a few new faces and the return of some that were sorely missed.

Fyi - half of the "Happy New Year" sign in the opening post was eaten by this dog shortly after the video was taken!
