Good morning Switcher Saturday crew!
Switcher Saturday is a weekly thread celebrating the smaller locomotives that do the big work of railroading.
From FM units to SD, GP, Baldwin, Alco, and XX tonners, to Juice Jacks, Brookville, and Republic, and way back to saddle tankers 0-4-0,0-6-0, and a huge number of other configurations, there has always been a need for nimble locomotives to do the work at the shops, yards, docks and wherever the end customer may be. From gas powered "closet" locomotives used to move steamers on and off turntables in Europe to the locomotives that helped build the Panama canal and others that still help move ships today, switchers can be a fascinating part of railroading.
For this morning we find the Christmas Express 0-4-0 and train have arrived on the seasonal pike in the living room đ.
So please share your Switcher photos and videos. Have a great weekend crew!
