Good morning Switcher Saturday faithful .
It's time once again for our favorite weekly thread. Here on Switcher Saturday we celebrate the smaller, versatile locomotives that do the big work of railroading. From diminutive machines used to pull cars or larger locomotives on and off transfer tables, to modern road switchers with 1000's hp, we love them all.
For this weekend's kickoff image, we start with Republic Locomotive 947. Behind the car you will see a test weight car. Yes these are real, and actually used to check scale calibration. I just missed the crew shoving the car back into it's normal resting place.
I believe the tank car behind the scale test weight car has been modified to also be used for scale work, I will have to look into that for another day.
So please share your photos, videos, vignettes and stories. Just keep things somehow Switcher related, follow the ogr tos regarding pictures, and have fun!
Switcher Saturday is always open to all scales and gauges. Have a great day everyone 🚂🚃🚃🚃
