Hello Switcher Saturday fans. As we have now ripped off all but the last page of the calendar, we enter the peak of the toy train season. Many families only think about running toys trains once a year, and that time is rapidly approaching as Christmas Trees come inside, they just look incomplete without a train circling around them. Here on Switcher Saturday, we always celebrate smaller locomotives that do big things. And fortunately Christmas tree trains and Switcher Saturday can easily overlap. Case in point.....
The Zitrick 2020 family tree has not yet migrated from the back porch to the living room, but that will happen before the weekend is through. And the lionchief Switcher above will be one of many taking laps underneath.
In general, Switcher Saturday celebrates switching locomotives of all scales and gauges. Road switchers, transfer diesels, yard goats, trackmobiles, electricshutters, and even those awesome locomotives at the Panama Canal that help move boats, if it is loosely considered a Switcher, it's all good here.
So share a picture, story, video, or a memory. Everybody be nice as always, and of course pay attention to the Ogr tos in regards to pictures.
Here are some shots of my project Darstaed Jinty. This machine is getting rewired, repaired, probably repainted, and generally Americanized. I finally figured out how to remove the cab, and found that a Dallee reverse unit will just barely fit inside. Have a great day everybody!!
