John, I grabbed a couple of K-Line, NYC, 2-Bay hoppers from Trainland when they were blowing them out.  It seemed like the hobby was moving in that die-cast direction then,  I've got several die-cast pieces but always thought trains would become too heavy for the engines to pull, especially on grades.  They do track nicely but so do cars weighted to the NMRA standard and they weigh a lot less.

Bill, I keep my eye out for that Plymouth boxcar but have never pulled the trigger.

now that I have decommissioned my stethoscope I should be able to do some homework and share more frequently.
re inventing myself should include building and modeling again!
got to start with the Big clean up in basement….whew.
