BAR GP7 #63 :  Great scenes, but it looks as though the "Shark Bay" Railroad needs to get a few of its loco's and rolling stock over to the paint shop - remember deferred maintenance just cost's you money.    (LOL!)

That's nice a yellow but here's an alternative to a caboose - the tail end of the Lone Star Business Car from Lionel's recent UP Excursion cars:

P.S.This car has been heavily modified from stock, including the marker lights, drumhead, rear spotlights as well as all of the interior. Plus the mocked-up GPS dish and the more accurate kitchen vent on the roof.

Like the idea of a brandy right now with the way the cooler weather has showed up again Sitka.    Had a cold beer outside the other day when the temp was up.

I'll have to get those wheels turning as you mentioned, but right now engine maintenance is falling pretty far behind on a bunch of them .

Patrick that C&O #75 locomotive is a beauty, not sure I've seen it in your pictures before but it looks great.  Sitka - love the folks in the observation car, watching the track go by...great picture.

Well today T.E.T. fans, because of a mandatory trip to Ft.Worth through some of the most severe thunderstorms ever I am really late in posting.  However I do have something that's sort of neat.  Its a relatively unusual Marx piece (I never use "rare" with Marx) and its also very late in the Marx production process.  Its the 8 wheel, plastic, orange, Denver and Rio Grande caboose, made in 1974.  Simple design but for Marx a sort of deluxe item, two automatic couplers front and rear and two 4 wheel trucks.  So here is the # 1500 Orange Rio Grande Caboose.

Well hello T.E.T. fans, looks like I might just start us off today.  Very likely a busy day for most folks working as many here in Texas had "Easter" Monday off so today is the first of the work week and that is always busy.  Well back on 4/6 in "Western Roads Wed" I posted my two Canadian Pacific (CP) boxcar but today since its "tail end" Tuesday, I will go with my CP caboose from Lionel (MPC).  The Lionel # 9057 CP caboose is from 1978-1979, so it is about mid-era for MPC.  The two boxcars I showed before are the # 9748 an earlier car from 1975-76  and the # 39308 a Lionel (LLC) "6565" premium car from 2008-2010. So to refresh your memory here are the boxcars.

OK so those are the boxcars where is the "tail end" .  Well here is the Lionel (MPC) #9057 caboose from 1978-1979

Here is a view of the front platform.  Note that MPC has increased the detail in its treatment of even these inexpensive cars. The simulated chain leading from the brake wheel to the brakes is a new detailed feature not seen on earlier cars.

The #9057 was a reasonably good MPC car for its time even though it is almost all plastic.  It has two automatic couplers (thumb tack), detailed platforms, good rivet detail in the body casting,  a multi color livery and well detailed truck side facade.  Unfortunately as it came from the factory it did not have illumination.

Well, I see Don McErlean has a liking for CP Rail,  model trains from an earlier generation of this famous and colorful train, a beautiful paint scheme to be sure, and for sure Dallas Joseph has a desk top full of tail end cars as shown above by @Sitka, Wow, and these are my offerings for this fun Tuesday. That Santa Fe El Capitan observation car sure is nice. The caboose and water tower is a nice scene.

That's a neat looking track cleaning car, perfect for behind the SP SW8 1102.

I too, like the Southern Pacific colors on those switchers. They look like they’re right out of the paint shop.

Funny, but to me, the Southern Pacific doesn’t seem to be modeled much by O scalers. I hardly see any espy locomotives and cars, other than the Daylight, on any of the forums. 🤔

Yes Don, Vern, Scott, thanks for chiming in, this little SW8 SP switcher was a must have for me and I’m sure you fellows love it to. It’s fun to run. Scott, your layout is really nice with beautiful scenery.. Rusty Trague, I love that B&0 passenger train. Vern, I hear ya, doesn't seem to be a lot of Southern Pacific roads in O scale! Which is strange, it was a huge railroad until Union Pacific gobbled them up. One day I hope to pick up a standard SP work horse Pacific Class, like 2472, that is still in operation with the PLA. And I would love to have a Lionel Legacy SP GS-X (X=2, 3, 4, 5, 6) in just plain old black. And then some Pullman passenger cars like might have been seen on the San Francisco to San Jose commuter trains in the the day.
