Thanks for the FYI...purchased the last caboose ticket on the last departure for Sunday!!! Have never heard of the Howell Melon Festival...who knew? 

I am going on Sunday morning before noon to avoid the "Mellon crowd" and when its still cool,  it should be a good time. I will have to take my new camera.

I'll be there! Well working night watch but still. It's taken a lot of work to get 1225 ready for the trips but I'm excited! We even got the C&O flying numberboards on! Can't wait to see everyone!

Don't know about you...but I want to try some of that Melon Ice Cream that is sold at the festival by the local Rotary Club!

Forecast that day are for temps in the lower 70's and partly sunny...kinda perfect. Just sayin...

Never tried the Melon Ice cream... sounds like a treat I may offer for the kids.

BTW 12-25 is my Birthday, so I always drive to see her.

We all went today, Myself, wife, son, two grand children and daughter-in-law.

The two grand children, kept saying "Choo - Choo" "Caboose".  There was a Lake State Railway Diesel locomotive used as the helper.  Lots of fun, took a lot of photos & video. 

Had a great time...last run of the day and even a little rain didn't put a damper on anyones spirits.
