This little H.K. Porter 0-4-0T, Has a Special place in my Heart, It is the First Steam Locomotive that I got to run. It belonged to the Father of a close Friend of my Mother's. Clyde had 3or 4 hudred feet of track on his property, not a long run, but as a first opportunity to run a live Steam Locomotive, it was a Priceless experience. Unfortunately, my only opportunity to run her was at the Final Steam Up in Clyde's Honor after his passing. I was fortunate to meet Clyde before his death, a very Friendly and Interesting Man, with an Impressive collection of assorted vintage machinery.

Tank engine and docksiders have become interchangeable terms thanks to Lionel’s marketing department. That’s not the only thing they got wrong (Trestle bridge anybody?)  Tank engines generally were used where space was confined such as Locomotive and car shops, industrial settings and docks as well as some logging operations..
The MTH “Docksider” is a good model, albeit, a little large, of the 7 class C-16 locomotives B&O used on the Pratt St. warehouse district. Later No.99 had its tanks removed and a tender added.
I am not familiar with the term Little Joe being applied the B&O docksiders. It usually refers to the large General Electric 2-D + D-2 South Shore or Milwaukee Road electric locomotives. They were originally built for the Soviet Union but because of the Berlin blockade the State Department blocked them. The nickname refers to Joe Stalin.
