The Southern Division of the TCA is again hosting a train meet in Venice, FL. Venice is about 20 miles south of Sarasota. This meet is open to non-members as well.
Last year’s meet in Venice was so successful that a larger facility was booked for this year. This meet will be held at the Ramada Venice Resort located at 425 US 41 Bypass North and all table spaces have been reserved.
The meet opens to TCA members only at 9:00 am, opens to the public at 10:00 am and closes at 3:00 pm.
There will an outdoor portable G scale layout in the parking area, an O scale layout from Real Rail of Sarasota, and Train Drag races for O and S gauge, using a scale length ¼ mile track. There will be a train repair clinic presented by a very experienced long-time Lionel Service Station repairman and also a how-to-make scenery clinic.
Food and refreshments are available in the hall and the restaurant inside the hotel will have a Lunch Special for attendees.
Admission for Southern Division members is free and is only $5.00 for all other adults. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. To attract more children into the hobby, one free admission will be offered to any adult that brings along one child aged 12 or under. Parking is free.
