LIONEL

It's time for another weekly Team Track excursion. From operators of highly detailed layouts to those with a simple loop of tinplate, this weekly thread is for everyone. Even pictures from the 1:1 scale are welcome!

What is a Team Track?

Team tracks (aka: public delivery tracks and transload facilities) have long been an important part of railroad operations. They can be found in rural countrysides, small towns, and large cities. These non-dedicated sidings make it possible for any small businesses to access to the nation's rail network. Virtually any type of freight car can be on/off loaded here. You might even find some MOW or passenger train equipment at a team track.

Don't have a Team Track? No worries, any track will do. Join the fun, share what's being loaded, unloaded, parked, or exhibited on your railroad!

Good morning team track partners!  Abbrail - Do I ever remember that famous Lionel catalogue picture!  It certainly brings back wonderful memories!  Thanks for posting and thanks for keeping this thread going!

Arnold - does your team track include a baseball team?

Today team track one in Lower Patsburg has another car load of Christmas trees set out by the local way freight early this morning at 5:30 a.m.   Here, the unloading crew has arrived and are loading the trees onto trucks destined for tree lots of the Boys and Girls Club of Great Patsburg.   The club has been selling trees like hotcakes!!  The last shipment of tree delivered on the team track last Tuesday was sold out by this past Sunday night.   The B&GCGP projects that it will exceed it's December fund raising goal by at least 50% this year!

If you haven't purchased your Christmas tree yet; come on out to one of the B&GCGP tree lots and support this upstanding organization today! IMG_1850  IMG_1852IMG_1854

Looks like the rumors were true after all. The Valley Railway appears to be expanding into local road freight service. The first of several new trucks arrived at the team track this week. Locals, who never take well to change, are planning a "Stop the Trucks" protest rally this weekend. Tens of people are expected to attend.
