Tether Problem

I wouldn’t play musical tenders period, …….if you’re confident you’ve re-flowed the engine’s tether PCB, the next logical step is the tether itself. Do follow the connections inside the tender, and make sure connectors are seated in the board, etc, etc, but yes, tethers do go bad, ….( sales pitch coming ) stock up on a few, as it sounds like you have more than one with the same type tether.  Tethers are sold at mthpartsandsales.com …….you’ll have to splice in a new tether,……here’s the part number..

After reading your response I went back for a second try at re-flowing the solder on the pins. I added bit more solder to some of the pin joints and am happy to report that the Southern Pacific is up and running perfectly again with full sound even when on curves.
