Am considering purchasing this set from an on-line dealer who has it new in an unopened box,  so I can't physically see what it actually looks like other then the Legacy K-Line web page, and wonder if anyone that has it can comment on it's looks, how it performs, does it have cruise control or with TMCC does it actually need cruise control? My only other K-Line engine is the B&O Mikado which definitely needed cruise control and didn't come with it, as it would slow down in every curve until I upgraded it to PS-2. Not an option for a multiple unit set with PS-2 upgrade kits becoming scarce and MTH not having any, PS-3 kits MIGHT be available the end of the year (believe it when I see it), and I want the enjoyment of running it now while alive. Heck I don't buy green bananas anymore, so an engine that might have to sit for a year or so for PS-3 kits is no use to me. Thanks in advance for any responses from owners of this set.

UPDATE: The engines arrived and appear to be brand new in the original shipping carton, but when I opened then no paperwork or manual. Any Forum Manual have a manual that can be copied. I checked the Legacy K-Line site and they don't have any manuals there that I could find.

redjimmy here!  If that set is anything like the K Line F7 Sante Fe's that I have which were made in the same year............if I were you I'd run, not walk to get that set (so to speak).  Great looking.........paint flawless.........good smoke.......not much on announcement features (which I never care for much) and great pullers!

The oscillating front headlight looks great...........I could go on..........I say they are all great bargains......and come October 2013 York I will try and purchase another K Line F7 set (different road name).

I believe the B&O units were equipped with TMCC & Railsounds.  I have the Canadian Pacific set, which does have TMCC, and I didn't notice any slow down but I use wide radius curves.

BUT...if yours do slow down, a cruise control add-on from Electric Railroad (ERR) is readily available and is designed for TMCC installations.
