Just what I needed. I'm aging fast enough.
Awesome. After this week's heat wave, October can't come soon enough! Hotel reservation was made back in May. I will probably complete the online meet sign up this weekend. (I should've signed up in April while at the meet) 
Still time to think about my want list.
Got my badge and room!

My registration was the same - very quick turnaround time!
My badge is in my badge holder which is in it's permanent home of my glovebox so as to never forget it!

Got mine too. It looks like ED has overcome the registration challenges. Things happen in a volunteer organization where the members are aging, and York registration must be a monumental task. I think that some kind of public recognition of the registration team (past and present) is in order. Perhaps they should be introduced at the museum event on Wednesday.
I plan on being at the museum this year. Last year I got in too late and was too tired. What time is the event there?

Hotel reservations were upon checkout in April. Just have to roll 1,500 pennies and mail it with my registration!

It just dawned on me that since I will be retiring next month, I could go to the Museum on Wednesday for the first time in years (Nick Ladd was showing K-Line's aluminum-bodied BUDD Cars. Never made, more's the pity).
Never been to York, got my badge today. Looking forward to it.

My first York as well. Just got back from Chicago LCCA Convention today. My first time hearing from the President of Lionel give a speech. Can't wait for York - any recommended restaurants? Best pizza in York is at __________________?
Need to join TCA and get registration processed. Like some, this is my first York. Layout coming along with some strategically void spots for something that jumps out. Bulbs and traction tires are on the list. Anything that cost $1 but cost $9 to ship makes my freight saver list.
Make sure you keep notes of what you want to look for, I used note cards last year for my first York and had a pen handy, was great.

Last year I had a good lunch that Wednesday at Round the Clock Diner East, dinner was at a Mexican restaurant on East Market Street. Breakfast Thursday was at the other Round the Clock Diner, dinner I think was at Perkins(there is usually the pre-York breakfast at that Round the Clock and dinner at Quacker Steak & Lube with the OGR guys on here), Friday breakfast was Perkins and dinner was Red Lobster. This was mostly because I was staying on East Market Street.
Also, there are a few one way streets heading towards York Fairgrounds, so definitely look at that further.

Here is a must do/do not that every experienced visitor to York knows all too well...
If you see a must-have item at a price that you're willing to pay, buy it right then. Don't walk past it and hope that you'll find a better deal elsewhere, unless you're willing to be disappointed. You MIGHT see it for less, or you might not see it at all, and the first one you saw will be gone.
Take Mallards advice...as the law of averages at York have been for me....if you wait until later to snag/buy an item....yep it will usually be long gone after you make that u turn/return visit! That said DO try a little haggling, 'cause I've found most York vendors aren't insulted. Those that get riled up over a counter offer apparently want to keep it all. Certainly don't low ball the skin off of an item, but bartering can be fun....and then there is BUNDLING for a deal!😉

Bryant - there are a few "Forum" events at York. On Thursday morning at 8:00 am Peter Condro (Putnam Division) usually organizes a breakfast at Round the Clock Diner - he'll post an announcement on this forum a week or two before. On Thursday night at Quaker Steak and Lube we have our usual OGR Forum gathering for dinner. Most folks get there by 6:00 but anytime is fine - we essentially have the whole back of the restaurant. Please stop by one or both and introduce yourself - we were all newbies once!
Additionally, many of us usually gather in the lobby of the Orange Hall to socialize while we await the opening bell on Thursday.
On Friday at 2:00 pm is the OGR Grandstand Meeting - do a search on this forum for past posts. Manufacturers give brief presentations and it's a good way to meet fellow forumites.

Yeah, what Greg said Bryant. Peter will post sometime soon(I think at or around the beginning of October) as he always makes the reservations at Round the Clock Diner. When he does, I can post that link here if it isn't so beforehand.
It was a blast last year chatting away at breakfast and at York for what I did. I wish I could have spent more time on Saturday but had to roll.
In any event, make sure whatever you really need you get and whatever is something you like doesn't take what you need away from you. You'll see everything you never thought you'd see.

Or, you may not be able to find it again. You may know it's on row E in the Red Hall, but the actual table numbers are hidden under the table covers. Can I not find it because I'm looking at the wrong table, or was it sold?

Guys, I typically post the details of the Thusday AM breakfast at the Round-the-Clock Diner (I-83 and Rte 30W), in the 1st few days of October.
Sorry that I haven’t joined in about this sooner......work has been very busy of late.
