Nicole has carried me away with the tide. Her recent post (Lionel's New GP-35 Is A Beauty) hit me where I am the weakest. In my New York Central diesel spot. Nicole is not really a devil. I am certain she is a sweetheart. She posted those great photos of her new Milwaukee Road Lionel Legacy GP-35 and wrote about what great detail it has. If there is anything that causes me to lose whatever is left of my self control, it is a great sounding diesel with great detail. Um, also if it says New York Central, I am a goner.
OK, I confess, I was walking by one of my sidings and noticed a gorgeous Atlas O New York Central GP-35 (unpowered) sitting there, gorgeous detail, and the diesel actually reached out and grabbed me. No BS, the diesel reached out, grabbed my arm, and spoke to me. It said, "I'm so lonely. I sit here on the siding, day after day and you pay no attention to me. Sure, you run all those powered diesels, but, me? No. You just ignore me. Now, I can have a sister with a motor and you can do as Rich Melvin says. You can lash us up. How about it, Mr. Ignoreme?"
What was I supposed to do? I mean, I would be a bad road foreman if I ignored a diesel, right? Soooooooooooo,
I found an online store with a fabulous price and I got my unpowered diesel a sister. I'm a good person, right? I care for my diesels and now I can do as Rich Melvin does.
I can lash'em up.
