This happened over the weekend while running our train display
One if the trains we run is called "The Magic Train".
What the train has is a couple repainted and rewired 3469 Lionel dump cars.
This gives us a couple Christmas cars that we can operate anywhere on the layout.
We put a candy cane in each car and tell the kids it's a Magic Train that knows if you
have been naughty or nice. ( of course every one is nice ) The train goes by, stops, backs up
then dumps the candy and moves on. Most people don't expect this so it gets a lot of laughs.
Enter two of Dearborns finest. A Sergent and a patrolman. They were watching the magic train do it's
thing, asking a few questions and enjoying the layout, They started to leave when from across the layout
I said "Hold on a second" Pulled the train next to me and put a couple small dough nuts in the dump cars.
Ran the train over to them and dumped the dough nuts in front of them.
"See, The train knows" I said
They started laughing, grabbed the dough nuts and left.
Now rumor has it that all the cars in the employee parking lot received a note of thanks
on the windshield of each car. This has now become known as the "Dough nut Incident "
