That is a Flyer Hudson Freight set from 1937. It has the die cast tender. Under the layout in another box is the 1936 version with the sheet metal coffin type tender. Someday I'll get the two tone green passenger coaches they came with.
Flyer called them Hudson "type" locomotive in the catalog, but they never really had the correct wheel configuration. Still gorgeous locomotives.

The passenger set looks great as well!  Thanks for the additional info.  Flyer 'O' sure is sharp!
