For those that might still use the DCS remote, vice the phone app, this is just a quick story on a wasted afternoon that could have been avoided with the replacement of a few AAA's.  I'm sharing in hopes of saving you from the same problem.

I'm not a DCS expert, but I know I've heard the DCS experts on this forum reply to DCS problems with "Check the remote batteries".

A few Saturday's ago, I was having horrible problems with 2 different lash ups (4 engines) on the layout.  I could not get any of them to run properly.  1 pulled fwd, one pulled reverse.  1 pulled, 1 did not.

I tried several times with complete power downs and resets of engines.  I deleted lash ups and rebuilt.  I deleted engines and added them back in.  No matter what I tried, these lash ups just would not work as they had in the past.

These were all PS3 engines, so I knew I did not have engine batteries to replace.  My remote did not show that my batteries were low, so I did not think to replace them.

One more round of deleting, reseting, rebuilding and I still had problems.  I finally decided to replace the remote AAA batteries.

Like magic, all worked as it should.

So, even though there are probably 100's of old posts that say, "Check the remote batteries", I thought I would just put it out there again so it is fresh in the minds of us non experts.

Have Fun!

Ron
