The last time I saw Al was at my home at our railroad club meeting on June 12, 2012. I thought to myself I had better take a photo of him for old time's sake so I called to him "Al turn around I'd like to take your picture." He did not want me to but he turned around anyway and smiled and this is the one I got. I think many will remember him this way. Always upbeat always smiling in the end. May your signals always be green Al.

I wish I had thought to take Al's picture when I met him at the Cleveland O Scale Show several years ago. I bought a brass GP-35 from Al and had a buddy in Clarion paint it in PRR livery. (Steve Knight) I did get his autograph though.
I told him that his books on PRR locos were my favorites. I'm glad his son (s?) were blessed with his artistic talents....Tom
