I cannot read the text even expanded on an iPad Air 2. Is this the best that can be done. I can read it on a desktop with a 21 inch monitor.

I couldn't get past the John Deer page of the online traditional catalog. So I downloaded the PDF version. I made it through a few more pages. The rendering of each page was so slow, I gave up.
My Laptop is only a few years old. I don't have performance problems with other websites or software. Lionel seriously needs to get some skilled IT people on their team.
If I come across printed copies of the catalogs, I'll take a look. Otherwise, the catalogs will remain a mystery to me.

I had the same problem with my ipad. I could barely read the text. Downloaded the pdf at work and it is clear enough.

Interesting. I don't have my ipad with me at the studio, but I do have my iPhone 6.
The catalogs load just fine. When I'm on a page I want to read, I double tap the screen and it resizes and give me clear, totaly readable text and pictures.
The iPhone 5s gives me blurry text.
Blurry on my iPad as well. I'm just glad it's not me and I don't have to revisit my optometrist.
Ipad-blurry
Iphone 6 s- unreadable

iPad 2 - very blurry
Samsung S6 - unreadable
Well, I have a brand new laptop and it's blurry. It's not the settings either.
The page view is fine, as soon as I click to zoom on the page it's blurry.
Lionel needs to fire whoever is doing there IT stuff. On my phone, I couldn't find the link for the new catalog-finally did a site search and it came up. If I can't find the catalog and know it's there, then new to the hobby folks will never find it...
Plus, the site still blows. Opinion.
I have an iMac. I noticed that the resolution was pretty poor, but with the big screen it was not a problem. It is not up to previous standards, for sure. Fuzz.
Yes, I can read the fuzzy images too on a desktop. But most of the world uses pads and phones a lot of the time...so Lionel's website is seriously lacking talent.
I'm traveling this week for work and only have my iPhone 6s. Can't view the new catalog at "regular" size (way too small), and can't read it when blown up (too blurry). This stinks!
I was excited to learn of the T-1 offerings. Viewing them on my desktop computer with 23" screen I have lack luster graphics.
Hard to get excited about something you really cannot see !

They have a catalog link that brings up old catalogs for sale. The real catalog link is on the home page and you have to click on an arrow on the left side of the page. You know, these new symbols that are not common to us who have been using computers for 40 years are just not helping. But I'm learning.
I notice the search through the catalog for things is very slow, that's certainly odd. The catalog PDF files are huge as well.
It is low-resolution in the 100% view.
Andrew
I was excited to review it. Am traveling so only have my IPad Pro. Can't read any of the text and images very hard to see.
The R-T-R is better than the Signature, fuzzy but readable on my iPad. The T&P is fine. They really need to fix the Signature.
Out of focus, when enlarged.
Lionel, needs to have the "Night Crew" reinstall these PDF, Flip Books.

OK, my I-Pad may be a bit Blurry on the small print, but it's not Blurry on those Beautiful Pictures of those Beautiful VisionLine GG1's, GS4's, And Look at those Really Great Alleghanys!!! All the Beautiful Passenger Cars, Those New Sound Cars, Command Accessories!!! Although I can not Read the Prices, I am so Glad to see all of the Amazing Products Lionel is Bringing to US....Its so nice to be able to get this product introduced before the actual Catalog arrives...Thank You Lionel!!!
Catalog ?? I don't need no steenking catalog !!
Had to hunt to find catalog and then it was blurry and hard to resize. Honestly, why don't they check this out before posting?! Make it easy, legible and fun! But, I persevered and found stuff I like - GGI and Allegheny for sure.
How do you get on the catalog. I can't find it.
Click on the three horizontal lines at the top left. Then scroll down the page and the Catalog link is at the bottom center. There is an alternate way by clicking on the Lionel Logo at the top left and then click on the big arrow in the center left of the montage of catalog cover background.
Took me a while to find the "catalog" on their site, and then it became a long PDF download, so I clicked out and will have to find a legible paper version. Not designed for people with little patience and short attention spans.
I could not find it on their web site. Do you start off the home page and then what? Thanks
the catalog loads up SUPER SLOW on my computer (MAC). Frustrating!!!

Hover your pointer over the products page on a PC or touch products on your mobile device. This will activate a menu animation that will have a link for the catalogs page at the bottom.

HMMMM....I'm reading a common theme....And, we know it's there....
Good thing for Lionel Gary posted a direct link
Chuck, understand what you're saying. I appreciate your directions as I hope many others will find them helpful. The new site is not user friendly as mentioned in other threads and I don't mean to derail this thread about the resolution. As a consumer, if I have to hunt for stuff on a site, generally I buy elsewhere..."Ain't nobody got time for that!"
I spent quite a bit of time ensuring my settings were correct to view the catalog without it being blurry...concluded after reading many posts above, it's now on my end. Sure wish I could see clearly see the details on all those nice products.
Lionel is 0/2 in the last catalog releases going smoothly. Last time, a new site launched the catalog early, they took it down, but the products were still visible if you did a search on their site. Launch day many couldn't view the catalog for some time as it didn't work. Now, we got blurry images. My goodness.
Down load the catalog. Change the zoom as needed. The catalog pages are much clearer.

I'll give it a shot, thanks!
I had issues w/resolution on my Surface 2 tablet, but not on my desktop. However, many pages are extremely slow to load and I sometimes get a "(Not Responding)" in the top tab of the webpage. Still got to see what I needed to see, though.
I clicked on the direct link just to see what others were writing about. This my only computer of any kind so that limits my access. That said, to be polite-a really poor website. That would not sell me much at all. Could hardly read the print. Enjoy.
Not designed for people with little patience and short attention spans.
I worked as a computer performance specialist for quite a few years. When computer software or a website responds slowly, people give up. One can disagree about how slow is slow, but that is human nature.
Never had this Lionel problem before. Clearly their base is energized....perhaps shorted out would be better put !
Not as convenient but if you click on view in list under the catalog picture a list of all items will show. Click on item of interest and the link will direct you to a page for that item. Pictures are bigger and you can read description.
A work around I agree
Hmmm... I just went to the site, found the catalog and read them clearly on my iPhone 6s. I wonder if some are having wifi speed issues?
I will say that from a design standpoint, the Lionel website is reminiscent of their ill-fated 1997 catalog.

Usually for me it's the ads that take time to load. Then I give up. I get impatient on that other train site.
As to the iPhone 6s loading the catalog quickly, I have about 30 Mbps download and it is a bit slow for me, I assumed it might be the number of downloads happening last evening.
