Well....probably not quite.  Lets call it the new OGR tower for the marketing headquarters, southern division...  In any case, this is a new skyscraper just completed a couple of weekends ago replacing an older structure.  It is made up of a few thousand American Skyline pieces and some kitbashed pieces.  Yes...at the top..the crown..is a copper jello mold!  Makes a credible decorative element that you see in early twentieth century architecture like the Chrysler Building.

The exterior is painted with Krylon Stainless Steel even though in the pictures it looks almost white...it is not.  I hope you enjoy the pictures....

Another beautiful building.   Really captures the Art Deco skyscraper look.  The use of the Jello mold was a brilliant moment of thinking outside the box.

Those kits are commanding a high price on eBay.   Too bad they are no longer made.

I would think that a similar Art Deco skyscraper modular wall system from OGR would sell well, though I'm sure the startup cost would be high.

Korber is offering a nice 32" tall laser cut kit, but it is a flat, not a full building.

Another wonderful and breath taking structure from master architect Alan!
Great job, my friend.

Oh, I doubt it. If such were the case, with the unbelievable number of items Alan has used in his custom made structures, his house would be bare. He has a tremendous imagination of looking at practically anything and figure out how to turn it into an addition to his layout, or part of something he is building. (Besides, his wife is a co-conspirator and solid supporter.)

Alan's ability can rub off, and if you are alert when you visit him, you may also start using totally non-related items on your layout.

Thank you, Alan!

Derek....only on the 15th floor???  That is half way...might as well go to the top for the nose bleed!!

Art...Thanks so much...I enjoy your layout too and hope to see more of it in some updated pictures soon!!

MartyE...Ed is afraid of helicopters...the last one he was on, the rubber band broke!!

Thanks Greg...

Not sure what the next comment meant but reading carefully the body of the post after the title, no doubt...this tower is only the marketing headquarters, southern division and does not take the place of the "real" headquarters on Jim P's layout..

Steve...thanks!  Allan gets any office he wants...he gets the view of the train yard!!

Don...thank you...I am now working on a gold glass tower which will be circular in shape and will add more to the skyline of the city.

Don K...thanks!....I have the small OGR Miller sign that I am going to use so great idea..I will take it!!

Paul...thank you very much..!

Ed...we are installing the helipad and extra rubber bands outside your new marketing office...

Alex M.  Thanks you so much my Friend.  Coming for one of the master builders....that means a lot.  I should have asked you if I was supposed to take the jello out of the mold first before I used it....

Zeke...thanks..and by the way, the pictures of the color you painted your trackwork is spot on.  Looks perfect to me!

Sam...Perfect pad for outside of Ed's new "pad"...

Dewey...thank you very much!  We don't have a 13th floor so we will put you on the 14th and the lease is free for you my friend!   By the way, a lot of art deco skyscrapers existed before the end of steam so this building would fit in both late steam and early diesel.

Alan

LLKJR...don't know what to say other than...yep, skyscrapers sometimes can be interpreted as certain manifestations...

Pete...wow!  Nice compliment but I don't think my cityscape is up to that kind of level...but I appreciate it...thanks!  By the way, the windows will be copper tinted and illuminated...but alas, Rich didn't give me enough in the budget for carpet!!

BLT...thanks!...but I fooled the wife..cause the Jello is still in the mold...whoops!

Gerry...OGR ran out of money in the budget to supply me with an office...but we are hiring you as our corporate attorney and your office will be right next to Ed's, near the helipad so that you and he can make a quick getaway if needed...

Surefire....thanks and you are correct.  The McD's is in fact occupying expensive real estate.  The high rises have been moving in but Mickey D's is still there.  It would not surprise me if they take an office in the new tower and sell the land for a tidy profit!

Mike...thank you and in fact, The Donald has an office on the top floor..

Bob...thank you very much!  I started collecting the American Skyline kits back in the mid 1990's and was fortunate to have accumulated a lot of them...a bunch!!  They make a very nice building and lend themselves to customizing, etc.  By the way, I purchased two of Korber's tall flats and they are absolutely excellent.  Have one of them built and on the layout.

Spence...thanks!!

PCRR/Dave...thank you!

Jason...Thanks so much!  Come over and run your Hi-Levels...

John...Thanks and I am counting on you and I getting together over here some day...lets make is sooner than later!  Hey..there are only 66,720 scale miles between us
