Mrs Muffin made this viaduct bridge for the new layout. Its over 8 feet long. All from stuff she bought at Lowe's...... This week, she made this rapids. It runs the whole length of the bridge..... just amazing, IMHO..... I am so glad to have her working on our layout. If the powers are interested - I will get her to create an article for the magazine on this project......

I can even see the salmon jumping upstream.
That is an excellent job, Mrs. Muffin!! The thing I notice that is absent from most waterfalls, probably because it is so hard to do convincingly, is the foamy mist rising from the bottom of the falls. Is that cotton pulled out real thin?
The bridge is very nicely done as well.

She used pillow stuffing for the foam. Polyfil I think she said. The bridge itself is made from lots of interesting stuff. You can't imagine. I will get her to build a section for the camera and show all the steps and get it to Alan. It was also very inexpensive. I had planned it as a temporary solution, but now, it's staying.
Yes, that's a piece of hammered glass. The local glass place donated it to us. It's 6' by 7'.

Very nice. I've made some rushing water over rocks but never rapids, which I've regarded as too difficult - foamy and quickly moving - to be able to do well in a static display. Clearly you've found a way. It really lots like its in action!.
