Did you look on the ETS web sit to see if they have anything like it in a set or by piece. You coul also email them to get the price on what the set list for. I some ETS trains but mine are with the knuckle couplers and Lionel type 4 wheel trucks. That wooden box has been on eBay for over a year and a half and has not sold due to shipping price. I usually pick my cars up at a reasonable price.

I haven’t seen this set on eBay. I do not know anything about train sets. I am wanting one for my Dept 56 Dickens Christmas Village. I found this same set at a local antique shop for $250. It looks brand new. Everything is still in the original box and plastic bubble wrap. I want to purchase it but I do not want to over pay. And I’d like to know a little more about it.

I have the set. It runs like a clock! The only thing is the little engine requires daily lubrication - just a drop or two - if you run it a lot - to prevent binding. Lubricate before running. It is a sturdy child-proof set designed for play. A great christmas tree set.  I've seen used sets for $200.

Looks like a two rail set and not a 3 rail and is probably DC power.
The couplers are not Knuckle but ETS design will not match up with Lionel cars/engines just ETS cars/engines.
This is not a big deal if you are just making a loop with the supplied track it will work fine, as Lionel 3 rail will not work  (Lionel's outer rails are electrically connected together).
This is a great set and offering $175.00 for it is fine.
You could use the Lionel non capable's as listed above for a bargaining chip.
ETS trains operated nicely and this set looks great.

Just remember "Shoot for the moon but settle if you live in Kansas"

Hope you get it!!!!
