My grandson's Thomas the Train remote has stopped working. I have changed batteries and made sure they are installed correctly. But the light on the remote will on come on intermittently if at all. When the light is on everything works great, but when the light on the remote does not light up the engine does not respond. I called Lionel and they said there are new remotes enroute and should arrive in a week or two. But, I would like to know what is wrong and if it can be repaired. Does anyone have any ideas??
