Don't you mean Ravens?
Jerry, I think you missed the point of Marty's post (unless the Ravens are playing as poorly as the Steelers...).

I might have, but with the way the Ravens have been playing you probably shouldn't block the doors either, easier for the paramedics to get in.

Ted, not if Friday's is showing the Flye
rs / Penguins game that night!
Not likely. The leaves aren't even off of the trees yet. What is there to skate on?
Eh, down in front. And take off that silly toque!
If it were a Steelers game, don't block the door.

The grammatically correct pronunciation is Stolens.

Ted, I know they don't have hockey in Seattle
Oh really! Go read Lord Stanley's Cup.
We have hockey here. We also know that it doesn't matter in October.
Ah yes, those 1917 Seattle Metropolitans. Doubtful if they are still listed on the cup today. Do you have season tickets for them? Oh, wait...... They went the way of the Supersonics!
As for October NHL games, ask any team that just missed getting to the playoffs how important losing points in October was!
But not to worry Ted, Fridays has more than one tv, so they'll probably have both games on. Unless there's a couple baseball playoff games on! At least the beer is good!

Are we going to a train show or a sports arena? You guys are sure hung up on what's going to be on TV!
You folks are supposed to be attending the event to socialize with your fellow hobbyists, not to sit blindly staring at a mindless TV screen. You'll never be able to hear the sound anyhow.

Miss the playoffs? I thought every kid in the NHL got a trophy and a trip to the playoffs at then end of the season.

We are talking about going to a restaurant & bar after the first day of a train show. I'm just letting everyone know what I will be watching at 8:30. If you aren't interested that is fine. As long as you stay out of the way you will be safe.

There will be no mindless starring. Only focused attention to the championship game of week 7 is allowed. Come over an join the party if you want. But don't be a casual non-observer. Richard Sherman is a 3 railer and may be using his day off to addend the show on Friday. Do you want to explain to him why you didn't see his pick six Thursday night?
I'm not worried about the sound. We'll be streaming Raible and Moon.

Ted, I understand your confusion, since there isn't any real hockey in the Northwest. Maybe you can follow the Canucks, they're close by!
Allan, don't forget to wear your Philadelphia Flyers jersey!! There will be plenty of socializing with fellow hobbyists, no worry about that! After a weekend on the water and at the beach in Chincoteague, Va., I'm refreshed and ready for York!!
Unfortunately, Brian, I will not be at York this time around. I have a very ill pooch who has not really recovered from major surgery back in August. Taking care of her has been a real job in itself. However, after 14 years together, I owe her the best care and attention I can provide at this time.
Allan, I hope your dog will be OK. I would do the same as you if my Boston terrier BINGO were sick. York can wait.

Allan, sorry to hear your pup is still not feeling well. I sincerely hope she recovers very soon, pets are just like having children. Take good care of her and hopefully we'll see you in April.
Allan---I hope everything works out with your pet and I think it's commendable you are staying home to care for her. There will be other Yorks.

I must say Jim, my wife, son, and I will miss Chuck (Trainpop on the forum) this time. We will still be at Fridays but will surely miss his stories. Get Lolly better so we can see you in April!
My wife and I will be there!
Sorry to hear, Allan, that you won't be at York. Take extra-special care of that doggie...dogs are so meaningful to many of us and it's not hard to understand why you would stay home.
Best.
